Freddie Morris Nance, 73, of Alamo, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services were Saturday at First Baptist Church in Alamo with the Rev. Jerry Pearson officiating. Burial was in Hudson Grove Cemetery in Alamo. Cosmopolitan Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Tonya Nance and Wanda Nance of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters, Ollie Moten of Friendship and Vella Maclin of Jackson; a brother, David Nance of Michigan City, Ind.; and a host of grandchildren.
Surmukh Singh, 54, of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home in Burlington, Ontario, Canada Monday, March 2.
Survivors include his wife, Bhupinder Kaur Singh of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; and a brother, Milkha Sing of Arcaster, Ontario, Canada.
Russell Winfrey Vance, 89, of Joppa, Ala., formerly of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 at Cogburn Health and Rehabilitation in Huntsville, Ala.
He was retired owner of Sanderfer Furniture Company, longest member of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir since the age of 14, member of the American Legion, Country View Garden Club, Community College Orchestra, past president of Kiwanis Club, World War II Army veteran, and a retired captain with Tennessee Army National Guard.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Phillip Cook officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive visitors at noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Vance of Joppa, Ala.; a daughter, Kathy Eskridge and husband, Richard, of Joppa, Ala.; a sister, Jane Moon of Springfield; a brother, Owen Vance of Cordova; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra Oliver and Edna Harvey Vance.
Pallbearers will be Michael Eskridge, Matthew Eskridge, James Vance, Owen Vance Jr., John Moon, Randy Digirolamo, Chuck Moody and Michael Pettigrew. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Outpost Sunday School Class.

James Leonard White, 80, of Newbern, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at his residence.
He was a retired employee of Collins Auto Parts where he worked for 20 years, drove for various trucking companies for 20 years, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II where he worked in underwater demolition.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Elrod officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.
Survivors include his wife, Anita J. Slaughter White of Newbern; three daughters, Carolyn Vaughn and husband, Bobby, Jeanie Hawk and husband, Jim, all of Newbern and Tammy Harris and husband, Rickie, of Rives; three stepdaughters, Amy Slaughter of Newbern, Gena Abbott and husband, Andrew, and Michelle Rodgers, all of Dyersburg; a son, James L. White Jr. and wife, Kim, of Belleville, Ill.; a stepson, George Slaughter of Newbern; six grandchildren, David Roberts, John Roberts, both of Dyersburg, Jessie Weldon of Newbern, Maddy Harris and Will Harris, both of Rives and Melissa White of Belleville, Ill.; three step-grandchildren, Blake Jones of Newbern, Brian Rodgers of Munford and Cameron Morris of Dyersburg; three great-grandchildren, Emily Roberts and Jacob Roberts, both of Dyersburg and Benjamin Ricker of Belleville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Elizabeth Rogers White; and two brothers, O.G. White and Virgil White.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Abbott, Odell Epperson, Johnny Johnson, Jimmy Jones, Bill Revell and Steve Ross.
