Cindy Johnson, 48, of Dyersburg, formerly of Cedar Grove, died Monday, March 9, 2009 at her residence.
She was a homemaker and a member of the New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Johnson and Bro. Tim Maness officiating. Burial will be in the New Liberty Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Kim Maness and husband, Allen, of Darden; a son, Brian Johnson and wife, Jenna, of White House; three sisters, Dina Harris, Pattie Prince and Virginia Climer all of Dyersburg; two brothers, Jerry Fortner of Dyersburg, and Joe Jacobs of Covington; and three grandchildren, Landon Maness, Kenley Maness and Karlee Maness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. Johnson; her parents, Issac Pinkie Fortner and Mary Martha (Howell) Fortner; and a brother, Larry Fortner.
Destiny Michelle Midkiff, infant daughter of Kerry Lena-Lynn Copeland and Terry Midkiff of Halls, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
Services were held Feb. 28 at Halls Funeral Home with Bro. Jerrell Dawson officiating. Burial was in Willette Family Cemetery in Gates.
In addition to her parents, survivors include a sister, Chrissy Scott of Halls; and two brothers, Keaton Copeland and Bryton Midkiff, both of Halls.
Merland Schmidt, 61, of Paducah, Ky. died Monday, March 9, 2009 at her residence.
She was a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Keeling Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Neeble, the Rev. Jeff Hartman and the Rev. Mike Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Schmidt; two daughters, Cora Jean Bryson of Newbern and Norma Lorene Roberts of Dyersburg; a son, Billy Joe Millner Jr., and wife, Joey, of Newbern; two brothers, Howard King of Calvert City, Ky. and Paul King of Paducah, Ky.; a half-brother, Jack King of Florida; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy King and Mildred Katherine Walker King Moody; and two grandchildren.
Joseph Maynard Thompson, 76, of Orland Park, Ill., formerly of Dyersburg, died Monday, March 9, 2009 at Franklin Hospital in Benton, Ill.
He was a retired businessman and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Hirschie Schafner officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Thompson of Orland Park, Ill.; two daughters, Janice Dharamsy and Pattie Thompson, both of Orland Park, Ill.; three sons, Jerry Thompson, Larry Thompson and James Thompson, all of Orland Park, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Lindsey Thompson, Jonathan Dharamsy, Lauren Dharamsy, Joseph Dharamsy and Danielle Sanders.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Maynard Thompson.
