Benny Joe Autry, 71, of Lavinia, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
He was a painter.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Clarksburg Cemetery in Clarksburg with the Rev. Mike Autry and the Rev. Jerry Stafford officiating. Johnson-Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Carlos Autry of Lavinia; two sisters, Dottie Ashmore and Dee Havlir, both of Arlington, Texas; two brothers, Billy Autry of Troy and Bob Autry of Friendship; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Elsie Archer Autry; and a sister, Betty Stafford.
Erma Jean Clark, 79, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
She was a homemaker.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Calvin Smith officiating. Burial will be in South Fork Cemetery near Halls.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include three daughters, Vickie Pruett, Linda Tidwell and Melinda Clark, all of Chicago, Ill.; three sons, Donald Gourley and Billy Clark, both of Chicago, Ill. and Jimmy Clark of Dyersburg; a brother, Wayland Johns of Acbyrd, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Paul Tidwell, Alex Gourley, Lannie Carter, Roger Gourley, David Seat and Johnny Gourley.
Peter "Poppi" Travalin, 86, of Milford, Conn., died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at his residence.
He was a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army and retired from the N.Y.C. Board of Education and a talented master craftsman, creating and building beautiful clocks and furniture. A parishioner of St. Gabriel Church in Milford, he was also member of the Milford Senior Center.
Family and friends may call at 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green in Milford, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. Gabriel Church, Milford. Burial will be in King's Highway Cemetery in Milford.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Parlato and husband, Dick, of Hamden, Conn. and Rita Plewa and husband, Stan, of Dyersburg; six grandchildren, Dina, Christopher and wife, Amy, Todd and wife, Lindsey, Jake, Deanna, and Alissa; and leaves many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gill and Philomena Lombardo Travalin; a sister, Tina; and three brothers, Army, Mel, and Louis Travalin.
