Floyd Watson Garner, 71, of Tiptonville, died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a farmer and a member of Bogota Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Burton officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ann Garner of Tiptonville; three daughters, Vickie Wyrick of Munford, Lisa Green of Ridgely, and Gina Farrow of Tiptonville; a son, Dewayne Garner of Ridgely; a sister, Martha Crews of Dyersburg; a brother, Lloyd Garner of Bogota; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Donnie Conder Garner.

Pallbearers will be Rhett McIntosh, Kent Patterson, Farris McGinnis, Paul Bargery, Trent Patterson and Terry Jamison. Honorary pallbearers will be Buford Hopper, Paul Godwin, Tony Bargery, Jerry Bargery and T. Roy Shull.


Jo Ann Wilson Sweatt, 45, of Halls, died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Baptist Hospital - Lauderdale in Ripley.

She was a homemaker.

Services were at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Horry Duncan officiating. Burial was in Hurricane Hills Cemetery in Newbern.

Survivors include her companion, James Ozment of Halls; a daughter, April Wilson Rosales of Dyersburg; three sisters, Pam Townsend of Greenfield, Shirley Smith of Obion and Shirlene Wilson of Newbern; four brothers, Joe Wilson Jr., Alvin Wilson, Jimmy Ray Wilson and L.J. Wilson, all of Newbern; and three grandchildren, Raymond Wilson, Anhelica Rosales and Lupe Junior Rosales.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Agnes Duhon Wilson; a sister, Mary Ann Roberson; and a brother, Raymond Wilson.

Pallbearers were Russell Hall, Junior Hall, Sam Davis, Jerry Walker, David Buckner and Dale Freeman. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Smith and Steven Smith.


Douglas "Bill" White, 85, of Finley, died Friday, March 27, 2009 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was a farmer, a member of Junction Church of God for more than 60 years, and an Army veteran of World War II.

Services were at 3 p.m. Sunday at Curry Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Chessor and the Rev. Tim Boren officiating. Burial was in Dyer County Memorial Gardens in Dyersburg.

Survivors include his wife, Altha White of Richwoods; two daughters, Brenda Smith and Kathy Patterson and husband, Kenneth, all of Richwoods; a son, Michael White and wife, Sheila, of Richwoods; a sister, Martha Jean Smith of Kansas; four grandchildren, Don Smith and wife, Wendy, Kevin Patterson and wife, Jenny, Brent Smith and wife, Allison, and Elizabeth White; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren Smith, Ethan Smith and Parker Patterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Lona Bush White; two sisters, Polly Lineberry and Rebecca Lineberry; three brothers, James White, Thomas White and Vernon Lynn White; and a grandson, Keith Patterson.

Pallbearers were Neal Lewis, Jimmy Hester, Dent Yarbro, Randall Hughes, Jason Lineberry and Tim Vestal. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Williams, Vernon Hester and Barry Moody.
