Jack L. Troy Sr., 74, of Marble Hill, Mo., formerly of Dyersburg, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at his residence.
He was an engineer with Forcum Lannom for a number of years. He was also president of Troy Inc., and held several prominent positions with companies in Missouri, including JTroy Construction until his retirement. He was a past deacon and Sunday school teacher of First Baptist Church in Dyersburg. He was active in the Dyersburg Jaycees and a member of the Dyersburg Bass Club, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
The family will receive visitors at 4-7 p.m. today at Curry Funeral Home. Service will be private.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Wells Troy of Marble Hill, Mo.; a daughter, Kathy E. Glaze and husband, Eddie, of Lynnhaven, Fla.; two sons, Jack L. Troy Jr. and William "Bill" Troy and wife, Susan, all of Dyersburg; a brother, Terry A. Troy of Boone, N.C.; five grandchildren, Jarred S. Fowlkes of Union City, Sara K. Norton of Dallas, Texas, L. Casey Troy, William Harris Troy II and John E. Troy, all of Dyersburg; and a great-grandson, Skyler L. Fowlkes of Finley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harris and Kathyrn S. Troy; and his grandparents, Walter A. and Mattie B. Troy and Chester W. and Minnie Hendren.
