Elmer Hutcheson, 67, of Ridgely, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired employee of Dyersburg Fabrics.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Hutcheson and Samantha Hutcheson; his father, Junice Hutcheson of Ridgely; a sister, Judy Mitchell of Kenton; and two brothers, Wesley Hutcheson of Old Hickory and Bobby Hutcheson of Ridgely.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Nichols Hutcheson.


Leroy Jones, 81, of Halls, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired employee of Albin-Carlson Construction Company in Melrose Park, Ill., and a sergeant in the U.S. Army serving in World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Williams Chapel Baptist Church. Johnson-Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Eldaren Jones of Halls; a daughter, Patricia Moore and husband, Robert, of Unionville; a son, Anthony Jones of Obion; three sisters, Lorene Carroll and Jean Willis, both of Dyersburg and Elsie Turner of Ridgely; four grandchildren, Wendy Leonard, Shana Jones, Staton Jones and Nick Bell, all of Dyersburg; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Jones; his parents, Bluford and Follie Lee Curtis Jones; and a brother, Ernest Jones.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to Williams Chapel Baptist Church, 381 Church Road, Halls, TN 38040.


Robert Lynn "Bobby" Melton, 46, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis.

He was a retired employee of Heco Manufacturing and a member of Second Baptist Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Turner officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Melton of Dyersburg; a daughter, Christina McCollum of Dyersburg; two sons, Brian Fair and Kevin Fair, both of Dyersburg; four sisters, Brenda Bullock and Judy Joyner, both of Friendship, Louise Perciful of Dyersburg and Lois Walker of Trenton; a brother, Forrest L. Moore Jr. of Dyersburg; and four grandchildren, Edie McCollum, Jeremy McCollum, Brianna McCollum and Emma Kate Fair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Irving Melton and Frances Lovelle Sewell Melton; a sister, Luann Nicholson; and a brother, Dennis Irving.

Pallbearers will be Rick Bolin, Ronnie Howie, Chad Joyner, Jamie Joyner, Roy Nicholson and Joe Veteto. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Fair and Kevin Fair.
