Ernest Hugh "Pedro" Curtis, 63, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired employee of Dyersburg Fabrics.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Dyersburg City Cemetery with Bro. Mac Daniels officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his mother, Mae Lorene Smothers Curtis of Dyersburg; two sisters, Gail Ashley of Dyersburg and Virginia Haley of Friendship; and two brothers, Thomas Curtis of Dyersburg and Billy Curtis of Newbern.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Albert Curtis.

Mary Sue Carter, 89, of Dyersburg, died Friday, April 24, 2009 at Baptist Hospital-East in Memphis.

She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church, where she served as secretary for the Junior Department of Sunday School for 50 years, and a member of Summer Hill Garden Club.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. David Willard officiating.

The family will receive visitors at 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Kirk Avison and husband, Dick, of Olive Branch, Miss.; a son, Carey F. "Buddy" Inlow Jr. and wife, Marsha, of Kennesaw, Ga.; two grandchildren, Carter Kirk and wife, Jodi, of Olive Branch, Miss. and Jennifer Merryman and husband, Jeff, of Knoxville; and three great-grandchildren, Kayla and Daniel Merryman of Knoxville and Jackson Kirk of Olive Branch, Miss.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.

Carolyn Hopper, 69, of Ridgely, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at her residence.

She was a homemaker and a member of Wynnburg Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely with Bro. Larry Byassee officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Hopper of Ridgely; a daughter, Debra Vaughn and husband, Marty, of Tiptonville; two sons, Larry G. Hopper and wife, Tammie, of Ridgely and Terry W. Hopper and wife, Connie, of Hornbeak; a brother, Paul Wilson of Oregon; five grandchildren, Holly Hopper and Austin Hopper, both of Hornbeak, Russell Hopper and Clair Hopper of Ridgely; and step-grandchild, Robert Vaughn of Tiptonville; and a step-great-grandchild, George Robert Vaughn of Tiptonville.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Gray, Kelly Bartlett, Howard Tippit, Lloyd Vaughn, Rob Bledsoe and Kelly Tippit.

Lucille Sewell Reed, 82, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was a retired employee of the quality-control department of Sylvania and a charter member of the Church of Jesus Christ on South Main Street.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Johnson and the Rev. Mickey Dodd officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include three sons, Gerald Reed and wife, Terrie, of Brandon, Miss., Wendell Reed and wife, Christine, of Friendship and Ricky Reed of Dyersburg; two sisters, her twin, Louise Criswell, and Pearl Gamble, both of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Reed; her parents, Walter and Beedie Hall Sewell; three sisters, Maureen Glover, Mabel Spain and Emma Summitt; and two brothers, Roy Sewell and Lois "Buck" Sewell.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Smith Sr., Sam McGuire Sr., Sam McGuire Jr., Kevin McGuire, Paul Rose Jr. and Jimmy Johnson.
