Willie L. "Bessie" White, 71, of Tiptonville, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Reelfoot Manor.
She was a retired cook for Boyette's and a member of St. John No. 3 M.B. Church in Tiptonville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, with Elder Stanley Montgomery officiating, assisted by the Rev. Eddie L. Burnett. Burial will be held in Citizens Cemetery in Tiptonville. Cosmopolitan Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive visitors Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
Survivors include three daughters, Velma (Ray) Jones, Vivian E. White of Tiptonville, and Callie M. Hill of Dyersburg; two sons, Joe Willie Valentine and Marvin Shaw of Tiptonville; four sisters Cassie (Perry) Price of Memphis, Mary Wolfe of Chicago, Ill., Parthenia (Jacob) Jackson and Junita N. Hibbler of Tunica, Miss.; and four brothers, Charles E. Nichols of Nashville, Andrew L. Nichols of Baltimore, Md., Hugh Nichols of Little Rock, Ark., and George (Marynell) Nichols of Whitehaven, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.V. White; two daughters, Patricia Fyerson and Annie Hillsmam; her mother, Annie B. Nichols; her father, J.B. Nichols; and three brothers, John H. Nichols, Leroy Nichols and J.B. Nichols Jr.
Pallbearers will be Shwun Hardy, Kenny Allen, Ben Jenkins, Angelo Flagg, Sandy Jackson, Shelby Smith, Ray White and Johnny Higgins.
