Helen Rebecca Davis, 93, of Halls, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at her residence.

She was a homemaker and had been a member of Poplar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 1937.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Halls Funeral Home with the Rev. J.B. Burns officiating. Burial will be in Halls Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Doyle E. Davis; a daughter, Vanda Shelton and husband, Daniel, of Halls; and a granddaughter, Lori Longest of Bruce, Miss.

She was preceded in death by eight siblings, Nellie Harris Kendrick, Dixie McMillian, Hilda Moore, Oltie Nearn, Henry Moore, Harry Moore, Mitchell Moore and Fred Moore.

Pallbearers will be Rob Harris, Robert Harris, Shane Harris, Justin Harris, Clay Drew and David Medlock.


Wilma Joslin, 93, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Canterbury Place in Dyersburg.

She was a beautician and a member of Phillips Street Church of Christ for more than 50 years.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg with Bro. Tom Bright officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a niece, Lottie Brown of Newbern; two nephews, Clifton Pierce and J.W. Pierce, both of Dyersburg; her caretaker, Mary Jane Rice of Dyersburg; and a special friend, Bobby Hooper of Dyersburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Bell Joslin; her son, Jerry Joslin; and her parents, Lucy and Lewis Taylor Hendrix.


Earnest (Bubba) Riley Jr., 37, of Dexter, Ky., formerly of Dyersburg, died Saturday, May 23, 2009 at his residence.

He attended Kingdom Hall of The Jehovah Witness in Murray, Ky.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Curry Funeral Home with Ray Banderra officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia (King) Riley of Dexter, Ky.; a daughter, April Riley of Dexter, Ky.; two sons, Robert Riley and Bruce Riley, both of Dexter, Ky.; his parents, Earnest Sr. and Annie Shawver Riley of Murray, Ky.; a brother, James (Pewee) Riley of Dyersburg; a half sister, Andrea Alexander and husband, Bubba, of Lenox; a half brother, Shane Dudley and wife, Misty, of Naples, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Dewey Shawver, Larry Shawver, Joe Shawver, John Shawver, Jerry Robbins and Shawn Rose.
