Mrs. Helen Manring, 71, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Regional Hospital of Jackson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Evansville Free Holiness Church conducted by Brother Mack Daniels and Brother Ernie Pirofalo with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Charlie Thompson, Willie Spears, Mario Guzman, Joseph Ables, J.R. Ables and Ones Gomez. Honorary pallbearers will be Amanda Gould, Vanessa Gomez and Zackery Eversole.

Mrs. Manring is the widow of Ernest A. Manring. She is survived by two daughters, Mickey Ables of Somanaulk, Ill., and Kathy Eversole and husband, Rodney of Newbern; two sons, Jimmy Voss and wife, Theresa, of Chicago, Ill., and Howard Edward Ables Jr. and wife, Donna, of Missouri; a sister, Wilma Jean Pirofalo and husband, Ernie, of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren, Steven Ables, J.R. Ables, Jason Ables, Joseph Anthony Ables, Zackery Eversole, Jasmine Eversole, Amber Ables and Abigail Voss Bell; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph Ables and Zackery Ables.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cletus and Ester Lee Powers Goshorn; a sister, Wanda Faye Rogers; and a grandchild, James Marvin Voss.

Mrs. Margie Newton, 78, of the Fowlkes Community died Friday, June 5, 2009 at her residence. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Dyersburg.

Funeral services for Mrs. Newton will be Monday, June 8, 2009 in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Brother Ronnie Turner with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at Curry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Kelvin Newton, Lynn Newton, Jeff Boyers, Jeremy Newton, Bobby Hatch, Fentress Joslin, Doug Pilkington and Charles Marbry.

She is the widow of William A. Newton. She is survived by a daughter, Peggy M. Rogers, Dyersburg; two Sons, Arthur L. Newton, Ripley, and Kelvin Newton, Dyersburg; a Sister, Peggy L. Smith, Dyersburg; three brothers, William Pilkington, Covington, Herman W. Pilkington, Dyersburg, and Dan Pilkington, Berry, Ala.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Webb; a grandson, Rodger Newton; her parents, Laura and Dan Pilkington; four sisters and five brothers.
