Joseph Alec Stewart Sr., 69, of Waverly, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Stewart was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27 in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Wade McCarthy.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at Curry Funeral Home.
Mr. Stewart is survived by two daughters, Terri Cloinger and Jeff, of Dyersburg, and Mary Woodall and Kevin, of Dyersburg; two sons, Gary Stewart of Dyersburg and Joe Stewart of Waverly; four sisters, Ann Gehring, Janie Crane, Dee Brown and Diane Legler; three brothers, Jerry Kelly, Dan Stewart and Sam Stewart; best friends, Eddie Glascock and Bob Tennyson; 14 grandchildren, Steven Nusbaum, Beth Kent, Erik and Jessica Hayes, Christopher Hayes, Brittani Horton, Gregory Horton II, Courtney Cloinger, Gary Lee Stewart Jr., Caitlin Cloinger, Korbyn Stewart, Cecil Harvey, Crystal and Brittany Slavick; a great-granddaughter, Jennalee Hayes; and former wives, Karen Stewart and Polly Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Watson and Mary Lou Matthews Stewart; a sister, Pat Thurston; and a brother, Earnest Stewart.
