Ripley defeated Dyersburg 5-1 behind a great performance on the mound by Hannah Evans.
Dyersburg was held to just three hits in the game, two alone off the bat of Katelyn Weaver.
Ripley jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the game in the first inning, and shut down the Dyersburg offense in the frame as well.
Dyersburg's Caylan Arnold started the game for the gold and black squad, but control issues allowed Ripley to stretch its lead to 3-0 in the second inning.
Ripley pushed the lead to 5-0 in the third inning after loading the bases with no one out.
Dyersburg's Hailee Mullins took over on the mound in the fourth inning, and immediately made her presence felt, striking out the side.
Mullins kept the Ripley offense at bay, but the lack of offensive production by the Dyersburg squad spelled doom, as the young team fell 5-1.
Dyersburg's Meagan Fisher scored the only run on the day, but the squad had plenty of opportunities to get back into the game late.
The Ponytails will return to action on Monday night at 6 p.m., while the Sweeties division will not return to action until Tuesday night.
