Employee pleads guilty to theft, must pay $14,000

In Dyer County Circuit Court on July 6-7:

* Barry Lynn Gardner Jr., 25, address unavailable, pleaded guilty to failure to appear. He was sentenced to a year in prison and will serve that time consecutively to his prior sentences.

* Jonathan Antonio Green, 28, 310 Kist St., pleaded guilty to selling more than half a gram of cocaine. He was sentenced to six months in jail, followed by seven and a half years in a community corrections program. His $2,000 fine was suspended and he was ordered to pay $200 restitution to the Dyer County Sheriff Department Drug Fund.

* Mary Ann Hart, 70 Cottonwood Lane, was not prosecuted on charges of forgery in excess of $1,000 and forgery.

* Jimmy Lee Mann, 25, 4665 Sandmark in St. Louis, Mo., pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. A related charge of resisting arrest was dismissed. He was accused of yelling, trying to start a fight and punching a police officer who was attempting to arrest him at The Legion, 1305 Grant St., in April. Mann was sentenced to 30 days in jail but the sentence was immediately suspended and Mann placed on unsupervised probation.

* Kirk A. Robertson, 20, whose address is listed both as 1314 Moss St. and 281 Bethlehem Road in Newbern, pleaded guilty to theft of property in excess of $10,000. He was accused of taking cash and merchandise from his employer, Duncan's Foodmart in Newbern, between June and December 2008. He was granted judicial diversion, placed on supervised probation for six years and ordered to pay $14,303.16 restitution to Duncan's Foodmart.

* Mario Ward, 30, who address is listed both as 918 Vernon and 626 Finley St., pleaded guilty to criminal simulation. He and several others were accused of passing counterfeit money at Wal-Mart and Lowe's Home Improvement in February. He was sentenced to two years incarceration, suspended to two years on supervised probation. He also was ordered to pay $385 restitution to Lowe's.

I feel sorry for the probation folks. They

sure have alot of people to see about now.

they should make these idots work for them for free for a year or make them clean all the ditches in the county for free for a year.
