Katherine French, 90, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009 at Oakwood Community Living Center.

She was a homemaker.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Rehoboth Cemetery with the Rev. Perry Grills officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. today at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia Gruggett of Dyersburg; two sons, Dwayne French of Newbern and Keith French of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Karen Gruggett and Lori French, both of Dyersburg, and David French of Newbern; and three great-grandchildren, Grant French and Elliot French, both of Newbern, and Kurt Sanders of Dyersburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle French; two sisters; seven brothers; and a granddaughter, Mindy French.

Pallbearers will be Billy King, Justin McQuarters, David French, Grant French, Mike French and John Tosh.


Grace Lograsso, 88, of Finley, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Pemiscot County Hospital in Hayti, MO.

Grace was born on Monday, Oct. 11, 1920, in St. Louis, MO where she lived before moving to Finley in 1991. She was a member of the Catholic Church in St. Louis.

Grace was a member of the St. Louis Botanical Gardens where she exhibited several of her prize-winning cacti. An avid horticulturist who specialized in the propagation of cacti, she was frequently called upon to give seminars and private instruction on the care and maintenance of the cacti she grew.

The family is planning a private memorial for Grace at a later date.

She is survived by her daughter, Mia Bier of St. Louis; two sons, Art McDonald of Finley and Terrance McDonald of Manchester, MO; three sisters, Terrie Knittle and Jackie Ragsdale of St. Louis and Marie George of High Ridge, MO; and, a brother, Nickolas Greco of Ballwin, MO. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Virginia Lumetta Greco and Leonardo Greco; two sisters, Rose Morrow and Anne Laferty; and, two brothers, Joe Greco and Mike Greco.
