Mr. Joseph Tony Allen, 48, Dyersburg, TN died Friday, October 09, 2009 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was formerly employed at Nordine and was in the National Guard in Union City for 3 years.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2009 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Reverend Lyndel Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday, October 10th at the funeral home.

Survivors include his son, Justin Allen of Gates, TN, his mother, Charlotte Allen of Dyersburg, TN, his sister, Rachel McDaniel and husband Kelly of Dyersburg, TN and his grandmother Adell Griffin of Dyersburg, TN.

He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Allen.

Pallbearers will be Grady Allen, Pepper Truett, Joel Dodorian, Brad Alston, Randy Herron and Norman Allen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Allen and Taylor Herron

Mr. James E. "Jimmy" Luther Jr., 52, Dyersburg, TN died Friday, October 9, 2009 at Gibson County General Hospital following an extended illness. Prior to his illness, he had been a stock clerk at Country Mart.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11th at the funeral home.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2009 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Brother James Lawson and Brother Jerry Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Emily Luther of Dyersburg, TN, 1 Son Micah Luther of Dyersburg, TN and 1 Sister, Pam Shepperson of Friendship, TN.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Luther, his parents Linda Luther and James E. Luther Sr., and his grandmother, Susie Ann Mays.

Pallbearers will be Mike Thetford, Kevin Stringer, Barry Stringer, Frank Walker, David Hendricks and James Bizzle.

James P. "Pick" Rogers, 85, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 at his residence.

He was a retired farmer and livestock producer, a member of RoEllen Church of Christ, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the Farm Bureau.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Bro. Alvin Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery in Newbern.

Survivors include his wife of over 59 years, Kate Rogers of Dyersburg; a daughter, Kay Frances Ray and husband, Donald, of Newbern; a son, Joe Allen Rogers and wife, Wanda, of Dyersburg; a sister, Dorothy "Biggie" Holland and husband, Ralph, of Dyersburg; four grandchildren, Rhonda Adkerson and husband, Joseph, and Jason Ray and wife, Tammy, all of Newbern, Jacob Rogers and wife, Danielle, and Amy Jo Atchison and husband, Joe, all of Dyersburg; and eight great-grandchildren, Ashley Dunn, Justin Dunn, Joshua Ray, Jeremy Ray and Marcus Adkerson, all of Newbern, Lane Earp, Athalie Atchison and Zoey Rogers, all of Dyersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar James and Dona Mai Hurley Rogers; and a sister, Doris Cook.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Rogers, Joe Atchison, Jason Ray, Joseph Adkerson, Bobby Permenter and Mike Simpson. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons Joshua Ray, Justin Dunn, Jeremy Ray, Lane Earp and Marcus Adkerson.
