During her active years Janie was a member of Bellfontaine Baptist Church of St. Louis, MO where she wrote and directed many plays for performance at the church.
Her cremated remains have been with her loving daughters Anna Bunn Redding and Tanta Bunn Hall since her death. They now feel the time has come for her to rest beside her beloved husband of 50 years, Eldred B. Bunn.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery October 21, 2009 at l p.m. with Reverend Mike Hickman of First Baptist Church, Dyersburg, officiating. The Bunn family invites all of Janie's family and friends to participate in this celebration of her life.
Janie is survived by two daughters: Anna Bunn Redding and husband Hugh and Tanta Bunn Hall; seven grandchildren: Tonya Hoggard, Cynthia Jana McDaniel, Lantz. Baker, Nikki Santino, Kelly Hardee, Stacy Spickard and Norma Gould; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Dyersburg area relatives include: the Rob Peckenpaugh family, the James Ellis Manuel family, and, the Leonard Gustafson family.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Eldred Bunn; her parents: J.W. and Mary DeFoe; three sisters: Delle Peckinpaugh, Martha Sue Gustafson, Wylodean Defoe; and two brothers: Adrian DeFoe and Reverend James DeFoe.
