John Thomas Alvoid, 68, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Home.
He was a retired salesman for Lowe's and Riggs.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home today. There will be no service.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Alvoid and wife, Brenda, of Dyersburg; six sisters, Mary Tidwell, Dixie Ring, Carolyn Henderson, Jeanynette Ivery, Yvonne Mullins and Penny Paver, all of Columbus, Ohio; four brothers, Richard Alvoid of Florida, David 'Buddy' Alvoid Jr., Billy Duggan and Eddie Duggan, all of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Foster Alvoid Sr. and Mable Sara Goodwin Duggan.

Reynold B. "Bud" McBride Sr., 81, of Streator, Ill., formerly of Finley, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Streator.
Services were at 11 a.m. Monday McBride will be at Solon-Telford Funeral Home. Burial was in Long Point Cemetery.
Born March 8, 1928, in Finley, Tenn., he was the son of Forrest and Myra (McDermott) McBride. He married Patricia A. McFarland on Jan. 23, 1954, in Mississippi.
Born and raised in Tennessee, he moved the Tinley Park area after he married. He later moved to Streator following his retirement about 20 years ago.
After Reynold attended school in Tennessee he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for over 25 years for Mclean Trucking in Worth, Ill., as a spotter. He was a member of Teamsters Local 710.
He loved gardening and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He will be missed by all who loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patricia A. McBride; three daughters, Debra (Jim) Hart of Spring Hill, Fla., and Cindy (Neal) Kappel and Lisa Whitehead, both of Streator, Ill.; two sons, Reynold B. (Sandy) McBride Jr. and Steven (Lisa) McBride of Pontiac; grandchildren, Jimmy and Amy Hart, Angie Graff, Maggie Kappel, Brandi and Kelly Sullivan, Emily, Steven, Anthony, Kyle, Brad and Jason McBride and Heather, Alli, Angela and Sharon Whitehead; four greatgrandchildren, sisters, Annie (Ralph), Starbrough of Newbern; and Beatrice Permenter of Finley; and a brother, John E. (Kay) McBride of Finley.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Cooper; and brothers, Woodrow, Hunter and Red McBride; and two brothers in infancy, Leon arid King Newton McBride.
