Tickets still available for Army concert

Wednesday, October 28, 2009
Tickets are still available for the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus concert on Nov. 6 - but you'll have to act fast to get them.

The concert is only 10 days away.

The tickets are free and are available on a first-come, first-served basis from the State Gazette, 294 Highway 51 Bypass North; Anderson Printing and Office Products, 640 Highway 51 Bypass East; and SL100, 2555 Huish Road.

Tickets also are available by mail. Clip the accompanying coupon and mail it to the specified address. Or, for more information, call Donna Smith of the Dyersburg Area Community Concert Association at 285-9117.

The band and chorus are scheduled to perform at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6 in the Dyer County High School gymnasium.

The 65-member ensemble is the oldest and largest of the Field Band's four performing components. It was founded in 1946.

The Soldiers' Chorus is slightly younger, having been founded in 1957. It currently features 29 soldiers who sing everything from opera to musical theater to patriotic tunes.

The concert is sponsored locally by the Dyersburg Area Community Concert Association, the State Gazette, Anderson Printing and Office Products and SL100.
