Beer board OKs permit for Rice Grocery

The Dyer County Alcohol and Beverage Committee issued a beer permit to Timothy O. Rice to sell beer for off-premises consumption at Rice Grocery, 189 Stokes Road in Tigrett.

Chairman John Flatt said the last permit for the business goes back to March of 2003. That permit was in Regina J. Rice's name. Flatt said the background check for Timothy Rice proved to have no problems and there aren't any zoning complications since the business already had an active permit.

Board member David Agee made the motion to approve the permit with a second from Jimmy Hester. The motion passed by a unanimous vote.
