Mayor Richard Hill wanted to remind everyone this is a special day because we still have men and women serving the United States on foreign soil defending our freedom.
"Help us to honor all of these heroes and show our support by attending these activities," said Hill.

God Bless all those who have served our great country.
If you can read this, thank a teacher. Because of the freedom in writing, thank a soldier.
My wife and I are both veterans and live in Obion county but for years now we go to Dyersburg to take part in Veterans Day activities.Obion county does very little to honor their veterans, and that is sad.No parade,no speeches,no meal for veterans in Obion county, but "light refreshments" are offered.
