In the boys contest, the Trojans and Falcons proved to be well worth the price of admission. The game had it all including lead changes, big shots and a very vocal crowd.
The first half went back and forth as both squads enjoyed runs throughout both quarters.
DMS took an early 12-8 lead at the end of the opening quarter before the Falcons battled back to take a 23-22 lead at the half.
The first half was solid, but the second half was better.
Playing at a fast pace, neither squad was willing to give an inch. Lake County held the lead until a free throw from Jonathan Thomas knotted the score at 30-30. Seconds later teammate Jemeereo Spain drained a 3-pointer from the right wing for DMS's first lead of the half.
The lead was one the Trojans would hold until Lake County knotted the score at 48-48 on a basket from Darius Johnson at the midway point of the fourth quarter.
In the final two minutes the Falcons looked poised to steal a win over the Trojans, leading by three 56-53.
Enter Dyersburg's Wilson Armstrong.
Armstrong scored from under the basket and was fouled. After sinking a crucial free throw the game was knotted, once again at 56-56 with less than a minute to play.
Lake County, holding for the final shot, was whistled for a 3-second violation in the lane. The Trojans then had a miscue with 12 ticks remaining to hand the ball back to the Falcons, but another turnover gave Dyersburg a chance at the last shot with 2.3 seconds remaining.
After receiving the pass near the goal, Armstrong went up and kissed it off the glass for the game winner as time expired, sending the Trojan faithful into a frenzy.
Armstrong led three Trojans in double figures with 23, followed by teammates Jemeereo Spain (12) and Aaron Gauldin (10).
