The Dyersburg Community Orchestra will give a concert at 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church. This latest performance of the organization will feature a trombone, a soprano and a typewriter.

The concert marks the first time the group will perform an entire concerto - David's Trombone Concerto No. 4, including a solo by Greg Luscombe, the principal trombonist with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

"He's a wonderful musician," said Dr. Carol Feather, conductor of the Community Orchestra.

Vocalist Sharon Morris, a former DSCC faculty member, will return to solo in "Here Alone" from the new Broadway musical "Little Women." The mezzo-soprano will also sing "Memory" in a medley from "Cats."

To commemorate her 25th anniversary as president of DSCC, Dr. Karen Bowyer may have to work on improving her words-per-minute. Bowyer will serve as a surprise soloist in the concert, using an amplified old-fashioned typewriter as her instrument in LeRoy Anderson's "The Typewriter."

Other selections include a medley from "GiGi" and an arrangement of "More."
