Monday evening's total was $3,664, which is enough to sponsor 91 out of the 900 children. This year's goal is $35,000. Call 286-0833 to bid or sponsor a child.

Dr. Troy Kerber and Elizabeth Dickerson revamped the popular game show "Wheel of Fortune" to kick off the 61st annual Chimes for Charity event, which raised $3,664 on Monday night. Horner, Hawkins and Kerber were the sponsors of Monday evening's broadcast.

"It was a pretty good night, just starting out," said Chimes for Charity Co-Chair Kim Hill.

Monday night's total was enough to sponsor 91 children out of the estimated 900.

Tuesday's sponsor will be Dyersburg's 168th Military Police Battalion, which recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.

Tuesday evening's television broadcast will air at its normal time of 7 p.m. on Channel 4. However, the radio broadcast will air after the ballgame on WTRO AM 1450 and Eagle 97.3. The event will air every night through Saturday from 7-9:30 p.m. and will start at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

"Tell all your friends the show will be on after the ball game on the radio," said Hill.

Call often and bid high. 286-0833.
