Melba Louise Hardin Miller, 83, of Newbern, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 at her residence.

She was known as the Cinnamon Roll Queen, Bread Maker and Moma Melba. She and her husband were former owners of Miller Auto & Tractor Supply in Newbern and she was a member of Trimble Church of Christ.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, O.B. "Bruce" Miller of Newbern; four daughters, Diane Warren and husband, Jimmy, Denise Butler and husband, Joe, and Demetris "Dee" Hart and husband, Robert "Bob", all of Newbern and Dawn Lovett and husband, Robert, of Huntingdon; eight grandsons, Steven Warren and wife, Stephanie, Shane Warren and wife, Shelley, Dustin Warren and fiance' Meeka Paschall, Jason Butler, Derrick Butler and wife, Lynsey and Jeff Hart and wife, Keri, all of Newbern, David Lovett and wife, Stephanie, of Troy and Brett Lovett of Huntingdon; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Holder and husband, Darrin, of Clinton, Ky. and Brittany Lovett of Huntingdon; and nine great-grandchildren, Blake Warren of Dyersburg, Cody Warren of Troy, Keane Warren, Shelby Warren, Drake Warren, Colton Butler, Taylor Thomas and Makayla Hart, all of Newbern and Weston Lovett of Troy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Florence Matlock Hardin; three sisters, Jessie Hicks, Freeda Thomason and Annie Litton; and two brothers, Buford Moore and Lunie Hardin.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Tressie Marie Pruitt Parker, 80, of Hornbeak, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 at Obion County Nursing Home in Union City.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Mr. Parks Thurmon officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Becky Klass and husband, Mark, of Lexington, N.C.; two sons, Nick Parker and wife, Julie, of Union City and Bobby Parker of Samburg; five grandchildren, Ben Parker of Springville, Dan Parker and Logan Parker, both of Union City, Katherine Parker of Knoxville and Ellie Klass of Lexington, N.C.; and a great-grandchild, Nathan Parker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Tennie Countess Pruitt.

Pallbearers will be Logan Parker, Ben Parker, Adam Kilzer, Dan Parker, Justin Dycus and Cody VanDyke.


Steve Paul Stephens, 46, of Dresden, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 in Surprise, Ariz.

He was a self-employed carpenter.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Fairview Community Church, 7116 Cumberland Drive in Fairview. Bowlin Funeral Home of Dresden is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his father, Arthur Stephens of Hazel, Ky.; his mother, Irene Pollard of Martin; three sisters, Sharon Dills (Don) of Troy, Karen Braswell (Joe) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Cherylann Stephens of Fairview; and three brothers, Jim Stephens (JoAnne) of Brigham City, Utah, Doug Stephens (Joan) of Fairview, and Mark Stephens (Jo Ellen) of Crofton, Ky.


Timothy "Tim" Allen Thedford age 49 of Dyersburg died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

A memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Evansville Free Holiness Church with Bro. Mac Daniels officiating. Cosmopolitan Funeral Services is in charge.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Whitlock Thedford of Dyersburg; a daughter, Krystal Gallahaire; two sons, Timothy Allen Thedford Jr. and Damon Whitlock, both of Dyersburg; two sisters, Elaine Williams of Dyersburg, Mary Thedford of Mayberry, Fla.; three brothers, Larry Thedford of Dyersburg, Bruce Thedford of Houston, Texas and James Thedford, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Butler Thedford, and father, Alvis Thedford.
