Lloyd Wayne Foster (Bo) age 62 of Killeen, Texas, formerly of Miston passed away November 19, 2009 at 2:40 a.m. Lloyd was born on May 4, 1947, to Luther Lee Foster and Seveler Marie Scott Foster in Crockett County. He leaves his wife Betty Sue, a son Lloyd Wayne Jr., three daughters Regina Sue of Killeen, Amy Michelle Smith of Harker Heights, Tx, and Alyssa Michelle Foster, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Lloyd served 17 years in the U.S. Army serving overseas and Ft. Hood, Texas. He retired from Civil Service after 13 years. Lloyd was in the 101st Airborne in Vietnam and had two tours of duty. He was a traxck vehicle mechanic. His medals include the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal 1/1 Silver Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal clasp, Bronze 4 loops and Sharpshooter (rifle). He was a lifetime member of the DAV, Chapter 29 in Harker Heights, Tx. Lloyd loved family, friends, fishing, and car races.
Preceded in death are his parents: Luther and Seveler Marie Foster, an older brother, Marvin Lee Foster and an older sister, Carolyn Elaine Foster and a stepsister, Geneva Sue Ragsdale.
Other living siblings include: Clifford Foster of Miston, Kenneth Ray Foster & wife Shirley of Clarksville, TN, Lois Marie Younger of Rives, Bobbie Crosno & husband, James of Dyersburg, Luther Foster & wife Karen of Dyersburg, Charlotte Modine Brown of Newbern, Rocky Lane Foster & wife, Kathy of Dyersburg, Anna Stewart & husband, Steve of Ridgely, and Joannie Sykes of Miston.
Tina Turner McElyea, 50, of Memphis, formerly of Ridgely, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at the Regional Medical Center.
She was a certified nursing assistant, a member of Ridgely First Baptist Church, loved taking care of others, especially the elderly, worked at nursing homes for years and graduated in 1977 from Lake County High School.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home -- Ridgely Chapel with the Rev. Chris Wilbanks and the Rev. Richard Bragg officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. today at the Ridgely Chapel.
Survivors include her parents, Carlie and Dorothy Hammock Turner of Ridgely; a niece, Michelle Roark of Finley; a cousin, Mossey and Tom Wofford of Ponca City, Okla.; and special friends, Tanya and Bobby Washington of Byhalia, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Washington, Tom Wofford, Tony Leake, David Callens, Michael Smith and Tommy McElyea.
