Marlene Carlton Long, 76, of Rives, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Obion County Memorial Gardens with Shane Long officiating. White-Ransom Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Ray Long of Rives; three daughters, Janet Thompson of Union City, Cindy Figgins of Newbern and Sheila June Carlton of Trenton; two sons, Richard Taylor Carlton Jr. of Mary and John Witfield Carlton of Nashville; three stepsons, Billy Wayne Long, Tim Long and Shane Long, all of Union City; a brother, Houston Taylor of Olive Branch, Miss.; a niece, Pam Taylor of Horn Lake, Miss.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Taylor Cartlon Sr.

Tara Jo Stover, 28, of Newbern, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis.

She was a counselor for Tennessee Vocational Rehab Center, a member of the Dyersburg High School Class of 1999, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Union University in 2005 and a Master's degree in Community Counseling from the University of Tennessee-Martin in 2009, and performed volunteer work for Young Life, Life Choices, Transitions and Camp Rising Sun.

Celebration services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Dyersburg First Christian Church with Timm Johnson officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday at the church.

Survivors include her parents, Jerry and Vicki Stover of Newbern; a sister, Amy Stover Critchfield of Discovery Bay, Calif.; a niece, Mallory Critchfield; a nephew, Mason Critchfield; uncle and aunt, Ed and Barbara Eller of Troy; an aunt, Nancy Campbell of Poplarville, Miss.; and grandparents Joyce and Aaron Good of Dyer.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Ealon and Oweda Stover, and Clyde Riley.
