Members of the Balboa Masonic Lodge No. 205 gather together to prepare Christmas food baskets for 10 needy families in Dyersburg. The annual event is part of their effort to assist the community during a time when families should have food. The members also prepared Thanksgiving food baskets last month with all of the staples plus a turkey. This week families will receive canned goods, sugar, rice, fruits, candy, bread, nuts, cooking oil, Jell-O and chicken. From left are lodge members: Thurmond Robinson, Jimmy Fair, Jesse Kirk, Hurbert Smith and Joe Edwards. Not pictured are Wayne Posey, Billy Lee, Markus Mathis and Reginald King.

Way to go gentlemen. It is always rewarding to serve others, especially at this time of year; when so many people are needy. Hopefully our economy will turn around soon because so many of our families are being negatively impacted. May God bless you and your work.

Pat yourselves on the back. Coming to the help of 10 families in need is no small chore. God bless all of you for putting the needs of others before the wants of yourself.
