Jimmie Johnson Bryant, 69, of Continental Country Club, Wildwood, FL, passed away April 15, 2010. He was born in Dyersburg, Tenn., March 13, 1941, the son of Johnnie and Janie Bryant of Newbern, Tenn.
He and his family resided for many years in Newbern where he owned and operated Bryant Construction and Supply. Having grown up and spent most of his life in Newbern, Jimmie showed his concern for the community by his participation in it's activities, as well as serving as an alderman for the City of Newbern. He had been active in both Newbern United Methodist Church and St Mary's Episcopal Church.
Upon retirement in 2000, he moved to Continental Country Club, Wildwood, Florida and was an active resident until the time of his death. He was serving as Vice President of CCCRO Board of Directors and Chair Person of the CCCRO Golf Board.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandra, and children Samantha Hammett (James) of Lakeland, Tenn., Trish Fannon (Gary) of Newbern, Tenn., and Jimmie J, 11 (Michelle) of Martin, Tenn., and six grandchildren. Survivors also include a brother John E Bryant (Eddie) of Hornbeak, Tenn., and a sister Betty Stripling (Jon) of Wildwood, FL.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Newbern United Methodist Church, Main Street, Newbern, Tenn. at 2 p.m.
