Shirley B. Combs, 97, of Newbern, died Wednesday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
She was a homemaker.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harmony Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Jack Criswell officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Survivors include a son, James Combs and wife, Brenda, of Newbern; a sister, Ann King of Dyer; a daughter-in-law: Sondra Combs of Newbern; four grandchildren, Anthony Combs and wife, Tina, Mark Combs and wife, Judy, Holly Combs and special grandson Logan Pugh, all of Newbern; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Combs of Jackson, and Chonda Smith of Trimble; and a great-great-grandson, Dallas Combs of Halls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry H. Combs; a son, Billy J. Combs; three sisters, Irma Pyle, Hattie Flack and Louise Lowery; two brothers, J. Y. Flack and Floyd Flack; a grandchild, Kevin Combs; and a great-grandchild, Tony Combs.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Parnell, Mark Pledge, Tommy Price, Bill Bard, Jerry Williams and Jeff King.
