Faye Smith Hendren, 68, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at her residence.
She was an administrative assistant to the vice president of Dyersburg State Community College where she was employed for 40 years, she served as President, Secretary, Treasurer and Shineshine Chair of the Administrative Professionals Council, formerly known as the Secretarial Council, a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was an active Deacon, President of the Lydia Circle, a Patron member of the Cumberland Women's Ministry, she also served on many church committees, she was a member of Professional Secretaries International and a Certified Professional Secretary.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dr. Larry Blakeburn and Rev. Annetta Camp officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the church.
Survivors include her daughter, Pennie Dismukes and husband, Chris, of Hendersonville; a son, Tony Hendren and wife, Amy, of Newbern; a sister, Brenda Childress and husband, Roy, of Dyersburg; a brother, Jim D. Smith of Walls, MS.; and three grandchildren, Drew Hendren, Evan Hendren and Emily Dismukes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy J. Hendren; and her parents, J.Z. and Virginia Ramey Smith.
Pallbearers will be Albert Fowlkes, Dr. Daniel Green, Bill Parmenter, Danny Dedmon, John Moore and Steve Clark.
