James Dalton Bulger, age 70, died Monday August 2, 2010 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born October 12, 1939 in Putnam, CT to the late Bernard and Katherine Bulger. A graduate of the University of Dayton, He was a teacher with the Ripley, Gibson County, and Lake County school systems and a member of the Optimus Club.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother; Richard Bulger, and a son; Brendan Bulger.

Mr. Bulger is survived by his wife of 29 years, Shirley, of Newbern; daughters, Kelly Bulger of Ohio, and Kathleen (Johan) Schneider of Oregon; sons; Kevin Bulger of Oregon, Jeff (Sherry) Leggett of Dyer, TN, and Mike (Amy) Leggett of Dyersburg; two Brothers; Jack (Jane) Bulger and Bobby Bulger; a sister, Betty (David) Veins; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Janie Bowen Deere, 83, Finley, TN died Tuesday, August 03, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Finley United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Reverend Ralph Gunter officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The Deere family will receive visitors Wednesday, August 4th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Iris Harrington and husband Bob and Barbara Deere both of Dyersburg and 2 sons, Tony Deere of Dyersburg and Tim Deere and wife Cindy of Signal Mountain, TN, 5 grandchildren, Chad Davis and wife Jennifer, John Thomas Deere, Wesley Deere, Michael Deere, Travis Deere and 1 great-grandson, Ches Davis.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Deere and her parents Thomas L. and Odell Holt Bowen.

Pallbearers will be Chad Davis, John Thomas Deere, Wesley Deere, Michael Deere, Travis Deere, Dusty Pritchett and Heath Pritchett.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Finley United Methodist Church or McIvers Grant Public Library.

Margaret "Hazel" Hendrix, 88, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday August 03, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 06, 2010 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Calvin Smith and Bro. Mac Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors Thursday August 05, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Mackey of Dyersburg; one son, Wayne Hendrix and wife Kay of Halls, Tn.; one sister, Sue Stutts of Dyersburg; 6 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert I. T. Hendrix; one daughter, Ann Simpson; one sister, Mary Ruth Clark; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Don Williams, Rickie Tidwell, Larry Frye, Ricky Akins, Larry Bell and Ronnie Grill. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Williamson, Mark Butler, Bob Daniel, Tony Kindle, Louis Mitchell, and Tony Bradford

Ora Eugene Odle, 79, died Monday August 2, 2010 at his residence.

He was a member of Lenox Baptist Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Brother Bill Phipps officiating. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens in Dyersburg. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The Odle family will receive visitors Tuesday August 3, 2010 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Thurmond Odle of Dyersburg; six daughters, Judy Kellum of Atoka, Joyce Emerson of Gleason, Donna Weaver of Lenox, Tammy Crafton of RoEellen Tracy Bailey of Finley and Lisa Wheeler of Richwoods Community; one son, Johnny Odle, 17 Grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Odle; his parents George and Rozelle Williams Odle; and two brothers Dale Odle and Jerry Odle.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Ballard, Stoney Kellum, Brad Waddell, Glenn Kellum, Ted Weaver, and Andy Wheeler.
