Mrs. May Gean Bray, 98, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Mrs. Bray was a homemaker and a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bray will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Milton Carroll. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time Sunday, September 19, 2010.

Survivors include three sons, James Bray and wife Jeanette of Lexington, KY, Jerry Bray and wife Jean of Bradford, TN and Paul Bray and wife Janie of Memphis, TN; 9 grandchildren, Marty Bray, Paula Stotelmyer, Mike Bray, Laura Bray, Lee Bray, Barry Bray, David Bray, Jennifer Bailey and Kevin Bray; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Lee Bray; 2 brothers, Stanley Gean and Taylor Gean and her parents, William Thomas & Lena Lee Taylor Gean.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Mrs. Elva Tickle Henson, age 88, of Dyersburg, TN died Friday, September 17, 2010 at Maple Ridge Assisted Living in Dyersburg, TN.

Graveside services for Mrs. Henson will be 5:00 PM, Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, TN conducted by Dr. Larry Blakeburn. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Ralph Henson and wife Serena of Dyersburg; two grandchildren, Jennifer Henson Davis and husband Chad and Amy Henson Armstrong and husband David; and three great-grandchildren, Ches Davis, Jenna Claire Armstrong and Macey Armstrong.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zeno & Litt Fuller Tickle; two sisters, Lucille Zarecor and Mary Ridge; and one brother, Emerson Tickle.

Martha Ruth Paridy, 86, of Orange City, Fl., formerly of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at her residence.

She was a homemaker, former member of Finley United Methodist Church and a graduate of Murray State University.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 10-10:45 a.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Mr. Robert Paridy of Orange City, Fl.; a son, Robert C. Paridy II and wife, Nanette, of West Hartford, CT. and a grandson, Andrew Robert Paridy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest R. and Roselle Gillis Moody.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Moody, Jeff Green, Mark Korn, Chuckie Moody, Ron Murphy and Chris Holbrook.


Reverend Walker Dee "Preacher" Leach, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 16, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Leach was born on October 31, 1929 to Lester Neely and Inez Tankersley Leach in Dyersburg, TN. He surrendered to the ministry in 1952 and has served in numerous Southern Baptist Churches in West, TN, Southeast Missouri and Arkansas. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, formerly owned and operated Leach Auto Sales in Humboldt and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Turner and Rev. Billy Criswell officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Norma Clayton Leach of Dyersburg; two daughters, Lynn Armour and husband, Dean, of Dyersburg and Taleah Hudson and husband, John, of Bells; a son, Troy Leach and wife, Malinda, of Medina; and six grandchildren, Clay Leach, Seth Armour, Will Armour, Ben Armour, Lauren Hudson and Wesley Hudson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Nora Leach; a sister, Mary Sue Hill; his best friend and brother-in-law, Wayne Hill; and two brothers, Neely Leach and wife Betty and Ben Leach and wife Clytee.

Pallbearers will be Mike Leach, Benny Leach, Mike Moore, Tommy Montgomery, Hank Clayton and Jon Medlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Usery, Richard Burlison, Tommy Seratt, Jr., Kyle Moore, Greg West, Mike Clayton, Franklin Hurst, John Byrd, Bill Clayton, Ronald Lee Sims, Roger Sims, William Sims and Terry Clayton.


Mr. Edgar A. Scott, 71, of Dyersburg, TN died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at his residence. He was an Army National Guard veteran and a member of the Church of God.

Services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Brother Tommy Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The Scott family will receive visitors Monday, September 20, 2010 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years Cynthia A. Scott of Dyersburg, 4 daughters, Donna M. Scott (Billy Pierce), Debra C. Tharpe, Anita M. McAlister (Mike) and Ashley M. Deason (Daniel) and 1 son, Bobby W. Scott, all of Dyersburg, 1 sister, Sarah R. Scott of Lewisburg, TN and 3 brothers, Lloyd Scott, Jerry L. Scott both of Dyersburg and Larry D. Scott of Ridgely, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd Edgar and Irene Scott.

Pallbearers will be Charles Horne, Joshua Horne, Brandon Tharpe, Blake McAlister, Scott McAlister and Justin Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Deason and Cody Thomas.
