Harold Aubrey Sanders, 80, of Fowlkes, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at Veterans Hospital of Memphis.
He and his wife owned and operated Simon's Pancake House in Conway, Ark. for many years, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Fowlkes Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Funeral Home with Dr. Ralph Buckley officiating. Burial will be in Bellevernon Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Robert Mackey Sanders of Fowlkes; a daughter, Jean Marie Furr of Russellville, Ark.; a son, Bob Sanders (Cindy) of Neosha, Mo.; two sisters, Marie Simon of Brinkley, Ark., and Emma Remillard of Berger, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Rachel Sanders, Dusty Furr and Meredith Sanders.
Pallbearers will be Rex Comer, Larry Hudson, Dustin Johnson, David Hendren, Andy Cox and Wayne Price. Honorary pallbearers will be Jace Hendren, Austin Hudson and Seth Hudson.
Thomas Austin Grueser, 58, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a Sales Associate with Lowe's, a Communicant of Holy Angels Catholic Church, a Painter, Graduate of University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, former member and President of the Kiwanis Club of Dyersburg, former member and President of the Rotary Club in Newport News, VA., member of the Knights of Columbus at Holy Angels and worked with Habitat for Humanity.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Robert Stellini and Rev. Mike Gardner officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Holy Angels Church Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Suzanne Haile Grueser of Dyersburg; a son, David Thomas Grueser of Dyersburg; his mother, Jane Grueser of Avon, Ohio; two sisters, Nancy Evans and husband, Mark, of Grafton, Ohio and Gail Grueser Ventura and husband, Joe, of Avon Lake, Ohio; and three brothers, Mark Grueser and wife, Rickie, of Virginia, Minnesota, Paul Grueser and wife, Janet and Dan Grueser, all of Elyria, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Grueser and a brother, David Grueser.
The family requests that memorials may be directed to Habitat for Humanity in Knoxville, TN or to Matthew 25:40.
Nellie Opal Lacy, 93, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a member and Sunday School Teacher at Church of God of Prophecy.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Calvin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her two daughters, Janie Brooks and husband, Jerry, of Bogota and Geraldine Bivens and husband, Dempsy, of Union City; four sons, Willard Lacy and wife, Sandra, James H. Lacy and wife, Laura, all of Dyersburg, Millard Lacy and wife, Sandra, of Richwoods and Lloyd Lacy and wife, Jeannette, of Newbern; twenty-four grandchildren; and forty-seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doil Lacy; two sons, Doil Gene Lacy and Wilburn Lacy; and her parents, Arch and Ida Romains Woodworth.
