Thomas Lee McDowell Jr., 56, of Newbern, formally of Memphis, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010 at his residence.

He was a private investigator and a U.S. Army veteran.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern with the Rev. Danny Klutts officiating. Johnson-Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Lee McDowell III and Matthew Merriman McDowell, both of Memphis; his parents, Thomas and Marilyn McDowell of Newbern; and a sister, Debbie Maxedon and husband, Maxe, of Newbern.

Pallbearers will be Jason Maxedon, Maxe Maxedon, Thomas Lee McDowell II, Matthew Merriman McDowell, Jeff Goetz and Joe Fox. Honorary pallbearer will be Dalton Maxedon.

Clark "Pee Wee" Riddick, 75, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was a retired spinning manager for Dyersburg Fabrics, member of Phillips Street Church of Christ and a member of Forked Deer Antique Car Club.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery with Mr. Andy Brewer officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his son, Mike Riddick and wife, Sandra, of Dyersburg; an uncle, Junior Palmer of Dyersburg; two nieces, Sandy Ray and Nancy Dowling, both of Dyersburg; and three great-nephews, Ryan Blalock, Ethan Autry and Guide Dowling, all of Dyersburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Riddick; his parents, Isaac and Pearl Palmer Riddick; and a sister, Peggy Rowe.

Pallbearers will be Chad Barron, Brodie Cupples, Patrick Cupples, Max Wood, Jimmy Barbour, Larry Spiess and James Jones.


Shirley Jo Stephens, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, October 03, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a nurse and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11a.m. Wednesday, October 6 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Naylor and Bro. Jason Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include her father, Clovis Preston Bledsoe Sr. of Florida; and a sister, Kathy Ranette Edwards of Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lynn Stephens; her mother, Shirley Kelly Bledsoe; and a brother Clovis Preston Bledsoe Jr.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Carter, Lewis Luckett, Shane Davis, Jerry Ward, Brad Hinkle, and Jim May.

Thomas Lynn Stephens, 41, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, October 03, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a telecommunications engineer and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Betty Joe Redden Williams, 76, died Sunday at The Highlands of Dyersburg. She was a member of Lenox Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Rev. Rudy Ring officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The Williams family will receive visitors Tuesday evening, Oct. 5th from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Donna Joe Williams Key and husband Paul of Dyersburg, 3 sons, Michael F. Williams and wife Rita and Richard Williams and wife Wanda, both of Dyersburg and Anthony F. Williams and wife Georgia of Summerville, SC, 1 Brother, Eugene Redden of Decaturville, TN, 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Benjamin Floyd Williams, her parents Calvin Clarence and Ora Catherine Brashier Redden, 2 sisters, Louise Smith and Grace Lee Sims and 4 brother, O.C. Redden, Arvin Redden, Kenneth Redden and Johnny Redden.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Key, Joshua Key, Chris Williams, Dustin Williams, Ben Morgan and Matt Willis.
