60th annual Downtown Dyersburg Christmas Parade is Nov. 29

Main Street Dyersburg will hold the 60th annual Downtown Dyersburg Christmas Parade on Monday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m.

This year's theme will be "The Greatest Christmas Gift" and the grand marshal will be Carol Harris.

Also, Nicole Jordan, Miss Tennessee 2010 will be in attendance and the host band is the Dyersburg High School band.

Director of Downtown Development, Steve Guttery said he is proud the parade will be marking its 60th year.

"It is a very special celebration for us to have the 60th annual Downtown Dyersburg Christmas Parade and we will have a reworked downtown for them to see," said Guttery. "Many people don't get downtown except for the Christmas parade and they will see a totally renovated downtown."

All entry forms for the parade are available at the Lannom Center.

The parade will follow the annual route, starting on West Market Street, turning left at Mill Street, turning left at Masonic Street, turning left at Church Street, turning right on Court Street and finally turning right on King Street and ending.

Guttery said he would like to see more handmade floats this year.

Lineup for the floats will be on Lake Road between Market and Forrest at 5:45 p.m.

There will be an Industrial and Commercial Division and a Civic and Church Division.

Bands will enter Cedar Street from South Main Street and line up behind the Police Department. All bands must be lined up by 6 p.m.

* Deadline for all entries is Nov.22

* Food vendors are $75

* Commercial entries (other than floats) $50

* All non-commercial float entries are free

* No 4-wheelers

* No burnouts

* For the safety of the children in the audience, they ask that no candy or other items be thrown into the crowd. You may have someone walking beside your entry passing out goodies to the children.

* All entries must be lined up by 5:45 p.m.
