Donnie Russ Parker, 74, of Newbern, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 at Alive Hospice at Saint Thomas in Nashville.

She was a former employee of Dyersburg Fabrics and a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely with the Rev. James Combs officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Marberry of Dyersburg; two sisters, Betty Tatum of Ridgely and Mary Katherine Rimmer of Hornbeak; and two grandchildren, Brandy Welch Rose of Memphis and Kayla Marberry of Murfreesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Parker; her parents, Preston and Maude Russ; four sisters, Bonnie Stafford, Wanda Lou Evans, Patsy Ruth Hogg and Marie Lott; and a brother, Weldon Russ.

Pallbearers will be David Rose, Ray Lewis, Jerry Lott, Ricky Horner, Steve Jones and Tyler Jones.


Lena Mae Ferguson Sweely, 82, of Roseburg, Oregon, formerly of Dyersburg, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Roseburg.

Services will be Saturday, Nov. 13 at the Chapel of Roses in Roseburg.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Allen Sweely; a son, Larry Sweely of Roseburg, Ore.; two grandsons, Steven and Tom Sweely of Eugene, OR; two granddaughters, Lisa Soper of Eugene OR and Sarah Sweely of Roseburg, OR; a great-grandson, Andrew Soper of Eugene, OR; two sisters, Betty J. Whittle and Annie L. Childress of Dyersburg; six nieces; and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Alta Ferguson; a sister, Louise Ferguson Ramsey; a brother, Frank Ferguson; and a nephew, Bobby Ferguson.


Anderson Eugene Vickers, 85, of Friendship, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 at his residence.

He was a retired machinist from Dyersburg Fabrics and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Hill Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Ray Sollis officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery. Friendship Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Kaye Chipman (Aaron) and Jeanne Sollis (Lee), both of Friendship; a son, Randy E. Vickers (Marie) of Friendship; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Vickers Hale, and his parents, Anderson Wade and Naomi Briggs Vickers.

Pallbearers will be Lee Sollis, Robert McCanless, Don McCanless, Brian McCanless, Chuck Halliburton and Dennis Ray Jones.
