O. B. "Bruce" Miller, 84, of Newbern, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010.
He was the retired owner and operator of Miller Auto & Tractor Supply and former employee of the town of Trimble, a member of the American Legion, former member of Newbern Merchants Association, former member of Trimble Church of Christ for 61 years, member of Fair Haven Church of Christ, U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II on the USS Saratoga, and chief sorghum cooker at the Dyer County Fair.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Rogers and Bro Wayne Scott officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include four daughters, Diane Warren (Jimmy), Denise Butler (Joe), and Demetris Hart (Robert), all of Newbern, and Dawn Lovett (Robert) of Huntingdon; three sisters, Juanita Carrell and Florence Etta "Bugg" Fultz, both of Newbern, and Edith Moore of Yorkville; three brothers, Don Miller and Finis Miller, both of Yorkville, and Vernon Miller of RoEllen; 10 grandchildren, Steve Warren, Jason Butler, Shane Warren (Shelley), Derrick Butler (Lynsey), Jeff Hart (Keri), Jennifer Holder (Darrin), Dustin Warren (Meeka), David Lovett (Stephanie), Brett Lovett and Brittany Lovett; and nine great-grandchildren, Blake Warren, Cody Warren, Taylor Thomas, Colton Butler, Keane Warren, Shelby Warren, Drake Warren, Makayla Hart and Weston Lovett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Hardin Miller; his parents, Ollie Harvey and Irvia Brasfield Miller; three sisters, Demova McKeel, Edna Miller and Arthell McCann; and two brothers, Billy Miller and Charles Miller.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
