William Eugene Butler, 81, of Newbern, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired truck driver for Tri-County Equipment Company, served in the Tennessee National Guard and was a member of Middle City Church of Jesus Christ.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. William Norman and the Rev. Mark Butler officiating. Burial will be in Butler Family Cemetery in Newbern.
Survivors include a son, Joe A. Butler and wife, Denise, of Newbern; a daughter-in-law, Jackie Butler of Newbern; a sister, Florence Lock of Dyersburg; a brother, David Butler of Dyersburg; six grandchildren, Brian Butler and wife, Mary, Brandy McCollum and husband, John David, Jason Butler, Derrick Butler and wife, Lynsey, Tara Vick and husband, Tyler, all of Newbern, and Courtney Campbell and husband, David, of Dyersburg; eight great-grandchildren, Brian Edward Butler, Leigh Anne Daniels and husband, Josh, Brittany McCollum, Taylor Thomas, Colton Butler, Kylee Campbell, Kade Campbell and Nate Vick; and three great-great-grandchildren, Bo Hunter Butler, Chloe Daniels and Lilli Daniels.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha E. Butler; a son, Edward E. "Eddie" Butler; his parents, Lee and Martha Wilson Butler; and two brothers, James Robert Butler and Paul Butler.
Pallbearers will be John David McCollum, Brian Butler, Jason Butler, David Campbell, Derrick Butler and Tyler Vick.

Pershing Doss, 93, of Trimble, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011.
He was a retired trucker driver for F&W Express and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. John Wayne Fowler officiating. Burial was in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include four daughters, Pat Shipman of Meridian, Miss., Teresa Davis of Dyersburg, Vickie Haynes of Fowlkes and Sandy King of Jackson; two sons, Ronnie Doss of Dyersburg and Jerome Doss of Fowlkes; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Lee Walker Doss and David Uriah Doss; and a son, Ronald Doss.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Doss Jr., David Doss, Ricky Doss, Keith Mallard, Josh Doss and Dylan Doss.

Josephine Brown, 70, of Ripley, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at Lauderdale Community Hospital in Ripley.
