George William Wright, 85, of Newbern, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a former partner of Tri-County Farmers Equipment/ International Harvester Dealer and a mechanic and a World War II US Army veteran.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Klutts officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.
Survivors include two daughters, Stephanie Peevyhouse and husband, Allison and Luanne Berry and husband, John, all of Newbern; a son, Stephan Wright and wife, Laura, of Newbern; six grandchildren, Kellee McBride and husband, Bryan,
Justin Wright and wife, Allie, Jaret Wright and wife, Paige, Laura Jean Stewart and husband, Jason, Ben Peevyhouse and Molly Wright, all of Newbern; and five great-grandchildren, Emma McBride, Katie Richardson, Abbie Wright, Davis Wright and Ella Wright, all of Newbern.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Farris Wright; his parents, Harold and Maggie Arnold Wright; two sisters, Modean Ray and Dora Parnell; and a grandson, Jonathan Wright Berry.
Pallbearers will be Justin Wright, Jaret Wright, Ben Peevyhouse, Bryan McBride, Philip Ray and Donald Ray. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Mathis, Malcolm Puckett, Ab Davis and Jamie Moody.
