Walter Leslie "Peanut" Box, 58, of Bulls Shoals, Ark., formerly of Newbern, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at his residence.

He was a retired employee for the state of Tennessee.

Graveside services will be at noon Friday at McCorkle Cemetery in Newbern with the Rev. Tommy Warner officiating.

The family will receive visitors Friday at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Survivors include seven sons, Leslie Woodrow Box, Bobby Joe Box, Michael Ray Box, Douglas Lynn Box and John Wesley Box, all of Dyersburg, Jesse Floyd Box of Bull Shoals, Ark. and Gary Wells of Michigan; three sisters, Sharon Miller and Wanda Smith, both of Dyersburg, and Reba Jefferson of Flippin, Ark.; and 10 grandchildren, Allison Box, Brandon Box, Megan Box, Emm'ley Box, Eli Box, Ali Box, Matthew Box, Maddison Box, Jonthan Box and Sydney Box.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Box; and his parents, Walter and Mary Lou Lawson Box.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Branch, James Stanford, Gene Autry, Billy King, Dennis Anderson, Tim Anderson, Dwayne French and Charlie Coleman.

William Edward "Willie" Capps, 71, of Dyersburg, TN died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The Capps family will receive visitors Friday, January 21st from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Linda Capps of Dyersburg, 2 daughters, Lisa Lamb and husband Kurtiss of Dyersburg, Marlene Bates and husband Danny of Portland, TN, 2 sons, William Edward Capps, Jr. of Dyersburg, Mike Capps of Tupelo, MS, 5 sisters, Ann Canada and husband Butch and Rita Warren, both of Dyersburg, Lucille Pruitt and husband Terry of Dover, TN, Thelma Perciful of Friendship, Debra Campbell of Memphis, 1 brother, Hew Capps and wife Wilma of Dyersburg, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Angela Renea Capps, 1 son, William Ray Capps, 1 brother Dwayne Capps and his parents William Haley and Marcella Crafton Capps.

Pallbearers will be Tim Holland, Johnny Capps, Gerald Capps, Brian Heathcott, Paul Teets and Mike Capps.

Sue Dell Mays, 66, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was retired from Jimmy Dean Food in Newbern and previously worked at Sylvania and the Dyersburg City School System. She was a licensed beautician and a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, USA 605 Cheatham St., Dyersburg.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 21, 2011 12:00 Noon-until time of service at Grace Presbyterian Church Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian, USA with the Rev. Lisa Williams and the Rev. Bobby Matthews officiating. Burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dyersburg. Cosmopolitan Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, William (Rosie) Mays II of Chandler, Ariz. and Alan Mays of Illeheim, Germany; three daughters, Pamela Reeves (David Dobbins), Sean (James) Lainer, all Dyersburg and Sundra (Walter) Heath of Snellville, Ga.; two sisters, Hattie Florence of Ripley and Shelia Shaffer of Toledo, Ohio; a brother, James Moorer of Chicago, Ill.; two Sister-In-Laws, Judy Lovins of Dyersburg and Pam Shaffer of Merriliville, Ind.; eight grandchildren, William Reeves, Cameron Goings, Ebony Lanier, all of Dyersburg, Alexis Heath of Snellive, Ga., William Mays, Jazmine Mays and Benjamin Mays, all of Arizona, Dominique Staten of California; a great-grandchild, Amari Valentine of Grand Junction.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin "Dude" Braden and Minnie Louise Lovins Braden; and three brothers, Matthis Shaffer, John "Bondy" Lovins and Rossie Lee Braden.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Moody, William Mays II, JaJuan Swift, Sean Carretero, Derrick Dowell and Harold Hildreth.

Mary Nell Owsley, 66, of Trimble, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was a retired employee of Kroger.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emmaus Baptist Church with the Rev. James Hooper and the Rev. Paul Hogue officiating. Johnson-Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Owsley of Trimble; a daughter, Katherine Owsley of Newbern; three sons, Tim Meadows and wife, Shannon, of Loudon, Todd Owsley and Keith Owsley, both of Trimble; three sisters, Nora Frances Chronister of Trimble, Joy Carney and husband, Gene, of Norfork, Neb. And Carolin Maupin and husband, Paul, of Sharon; two sisters-in-law, Brenda East of Trimble and Diane Ayers of Dyersburg; and two grandchildren, Kearstin Owsley of Newbern and Hannah Owsley of Trimble.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.V. East and Mary Katherine Rainey East; a sister, Shirley Terry and husband, Bobby; and a brother, Billy East.

Thelma Mae Sanders, 87, Dyersburg, TN died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Middle City Church of Jesus Christ.
