Jeffrey Hendren, 49, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at his residence.

He was a gaming dealer at Lady Luck Casino, a Catholic, graduate of Dyersburg High School-Class of 1980, graduate of Dyersburg State Community College, attended Middle Tennessee State University, an avid sportsman, loving father and loved his family.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Derry Thompson, Tim Knight, Roger Hendren and the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his two sons, Zach Hendren of Knoxville and Evan Hendren of Hendersonville; his companion, Kitty Harris of Dyersburg; his father, James Thomas "Doc" Hendren of Dyersburg; three brothers, Jimmy Hendren of Morganfield, KY., Bobby Hendren and Roger Hendren, both of Alamo; and a sister, Lynn Hendren McDivitt of Dyersburg.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Ann Hipp Hendren.

Pallbearers will be Tim Knight, Jeff McGuire, Perry Lynn Holcomb, Terry Dial, Chip Worley and John Tom McDivitt.

Born April 26, l933 in Dyersburg, Tn.

Son of the late Flossie Thurmond (Williams) and David Strawnie Thurmond.

Beloved father of Harold Wayne Thurmond, Vickie Marie Rameriz, Teresa Dianne Thurmond, the late Shelby Jean Thurmond, Stoney Mark Thurmond, and the late Jackie Lynn Thurmond, all from Dyersburg, Tn. and Mary Hamm of CA.

Brother of the late Ralph Fay Thurmond, the late Imogean Thurmond (Preslar), Charles Winston Thurmond (Betsy) of Bogota, Tn., and Betty Joyce Thurmond (Odle) of Dyersburg, Tn.

Dearest grandfather of nine. Great grandfather, Brother in law, Uncle and friend.

Maxie retired from Ed Wright Exxon after 30 years.

U.S. Army Veteran.

Graveside services for Mr. Thurmond will be held Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 at Zion Cemetery in Elbridge, Tn. Officiating this service will be Rev. Calvin Smith.

Pallbearers will be Donald Sanders, Dave Hudson, David Hudson, Ed Ward, Charles Wayne Thurmond and Stoney Thurmond.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Ruth Frances Dickey Hanley, 90, of Newbern, died Saturday at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

Memorial graveside services for Mrs. Hanley will be announced later by Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Carolyn Newcomb, 65, of Tiptonville, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Gregory (Greg) Stewart, 45, of Dyersburg died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
