Jeffrey L. Hooper, 51, of Miston, died Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Trenton Place and Rehabilitation Center.

He was a machinist for Bennett Tool & Die, avid camper, hunter and outdoorsman and was in the National Guard.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Mr. David Brooks officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his sister, Bonnie Buress and husband, Danny, of Miston; a brother, Gordon Hooper and wife, Jeanne, of Trezevant; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George E. and Betty Carroll Hooper; and a brother, Harlan Hooper.

Pallbearers will be Gordon Hooper, Johnny Anderson, Dickey Buress, Will Rook, Jason Buress and Ricky Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Hooper, Wade Anderson and Danny Buress.


Beloved husband, father and Papa, Robert Dan "Bobby" Patterson, 67, of Tiptonville, TN died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Ridgely, TN, an Army Veteran, a trustee of Gibson Electric Membership Corporation, a past member of the Rotary Club, the Lions Club, Lake County Board of Education, State Democratic Committee-man, Lake County Election Commission and was on the Board of Reelfoot Lake Regional Utility District. He was also a retired banker and farmer.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Ridgely, TN with Brother Craig Myrick officiating. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be 5:30 - 7:30 PM, Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Cam Patterson of Tiptonville; two daughters, Pamie Adcock and husband David of Dyersburg and Missy Homra and husband Jamil of Ridgely, 1 sister, Margie Algee of Ridgely, 1 brother Charles William Patterson of Safford, AZ, and 4 grandchildren Hollie Adcock, Mary Malone Adcock, Cameron Homra and Hanna Homra.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Robert & Roxie Patterson.

Pallbearers will be Robert Coats, Kent Patterson, Trent Patterson, Bryon Patterson, Bradley Patterson, Troy Patterson, Glenn Patterson and Glen Floyd.

The family requests any memorials be directed to Ridgely First United Methodist Church, Margaret Newton Elementary Scholarship Fund or Imagination Library.

Martha Mable Alsup Rodgers, 83, of Caholkia, Ill., formerly of Newbern, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at Touchette Regional Hospital in Centerville, Ill.

She was a homemaker and a member of Maplewood Park Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. John Knapp officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors at 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include a sister, Ruby Johnson of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Anne Rodgers of St. Peters, Mo. a grandson, William Richmond of Cahokia, Ill.; and two great-grandchildren, Nikolas and Rebecca Richmond of Cahokia, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Rodgers; her parents, Will Alsup and Cara Jane McCool Alsup; and a daughter, Joyce Ann Richmond.

Pallbearers will be Larry Dunaway, Charles Funderburk, John Alsup, Charles Eddie Rodgers, Mike Ladd and Gary Clements.


Mary Grapel Scott, "Aunt Grapel" and "Mammaw", 71, of Dyersburg, TN died Saturday, February 05, 2011 at her residence. She was a homemaker.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Mac Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include two daughters, Susie (the late Mark) Tirey and Charlotte Sweat both of Dyersburg; four sons, David (Debbie) Scott, Jimmy (Lisa) Scott, Randy Scott, all of Dyersburg, and Jeff (Glenda) Scott of Newbern; two sisters, Josie Dean and Carrie Wilson both of Dyersburg; one brother, Thomas "Bubba" Jernigan of Dyersburg; 17 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ewell Scott; her parents William and Carrie Hill Jernigan; three sisters, Geraldine Jernigan, Estell Binkley, and Ernestine Gipson; seven brothers, John David Jernigan, Billy Jernigan, Lankford Jernigan, Junior Jernigan, Miller Jernigan, Odell Jernigan, and Eddie Jernigan; and one Grandson, Kyle Scott.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons.
