Helen Boswell Hopper, 84, of Dyersburg, TN died Tuesday, February 08, 2011 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Facility. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a Homemaker.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday February 11, 2011 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Loren Stephens officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will follow in Sorrell Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include two sisters, Birdie (Joe) Baker of Dyersburg and Sarah Rogers of DeMott, Indiana; and one brother, David (Nelda) Boswell of Dyersburg, and a host of nieces and nephews that she was honored to assist in their care.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland "Top" Hopper; her parents, Perry and Ellen Lovins Boswell; and one sister Elizabeth Boswell Roberts.

Ronald Joe Prater, 55, of Newbern, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was an employee of HECO Manufacturing.
Cremation services are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
Survivors include his companion of 10 years, Betty Turpin; a daughter, Lauren Prater of Halls; three sons, Michael Prater and Scotty Prater, both of Manassas, Va. and Lance Prater of Newbern; two sisters, Brenda Austin (Edward) of Troy and Gloria Michael (Johnny) of Trimble; a brother, Dennis Prater (Margaret) of Trimble; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jodie Prater and Elsie Mae Weaver Prater.

Robert Joe Veal Sr., 89, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was retired Deputy Chief for the City of Dyersburg Fire Department, U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, Pacific Theatre, where he received the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart Medal, and a member of Dyersburg Fire Department for 35 years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Don Williams, Bro. Rudy Ring and Bro. Joe Wright officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Mozell Veal of Dyersburg; a daughter, Loletia Chandler and husband, David, of Pachuta, MS.; two sons, Bob Veal and wife, Shonda, and Tony Veal and wife, Susan, all of Dyersburg; a step-son, Dempsey Bivens of Union City; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Jewel Veal; a daughter, Patricia Jean Veal; a son, Gary Ernest Veal; and his parents, Robert "Bob" and Lillian Deaton Veal.
Pallbearers will be Members of the Dyersburg Fire Department and the former Fire Chief, Billy Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Stanley, Eli Veal, Adam Veal, Mackie Joslin, Cysler Joslin, Larry Putman and Richard Wyrick.
James Richard Hilliard, 87, of Obion, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at his residence.
