Mr. Dewey D. Taylor, 85, of Martin died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
He was a retired employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery in Martin.
The family will receive visitors at 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was Survivors include a son, David Taylor of Dyersburg; a daughter, Nan Lamb of Martin; five grandchildren, Christie Stewart of Las Vegas, Jeremy Lamb of Dawsonville, GA, Megan Cheek of Paris, TN, Trent Taylor of Richmond, VA and Scott Taylor of Knoxville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Tomlinson Taylor; his parents, Okie Taylor and Kennie Ward Taylor, and a brother, Harold Taylor.
The family request that any memorials be directed to the First United Methodist Church or We Care Ministries.
Marguerite King Watson, 55, of Millsfield, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011.
She was a member of Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she served as secretary of the Missionary Society Cumberland P.C.A. and a member of FCE Club of Dyersburg.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Millsfield with the Rev. Ronald E. Bowers officiating.
The family will receive visitors at 3-5 p.m. Friday at H.H. Hudson Funeral Home and at 6-8 p.m. at the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Candace Watson and Cynthia Watson, both of Dyersburg; a son, Sgt. Christopher Watson of Fort Hood, Kileen, Texas; her mother, Naomi King of Millsfield; and two brothers, Willie Connell King and Reginald King, both of Dyersburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that any memorials be directed to Mrs. Naomi King or Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
