Joe E. Chadwick, 85, of Tiptonville, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a life member of The American Legion and participated in the decorating of soldier's graves for over 60 years.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, in the Ridgely Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Cassandra Chadwick officiating. Interment was in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Mitchell and husband "Mitch" of Oakland, Tn.; three sons, Charles Chadwick and wife, Cassandra, of Tiptonville; Tim Chadwick and wife, Susan, of St. Charles, Mo.; Jerry Chadwick and wife, Donna, of Jackson, Tn.; two sisters, Judy Nunnery of Ridgely and Virginia Weems of South Carolina; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Browning Chadwick; his parents, A. C. and Madge Clark Chadwick; two sisters, Helen Speltz and Hazel Chadwick; and three brothers A. C. Chadwick Jr., Charlie Chadwick, and John Chadwick.
Pallbearers were Ryan Chadwick, Nathan Chadwick, Josh Chadwick, Jacob Chadwick, David Ayers and Mike Atchison.
