W.E. "Pete" Foust, 88, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at his residence.

He was a retired employee with South Central Bell, where he worked for 35 years, member of Rehoboth Methodist Church, 50-year Mason, where he served as Secretary-Treasurer for over 25 years, past Master of Hess Lodge # 93 and a life member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rehoboth Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Tilley and the Rev. Frank Gardner officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Geral Dean Foust of Dyersburg; a daughter, Mildred Sutton and husband, Don, of Newbern; two grandchildren, Michael Sutton and wife, Tracey, and Cori Beth Sutton; and five great-grandchildren, Matthew Thomason, Jordan Thomason, Joshua Thomason, Jansen Thomason and Jenna Sutton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Bessie Baker Foust; and a grandson, David Sutton.

Pallbearers will be Don Sutton, Michael Sutton, Matthew Thomason, Jordan Thomason, Danny Wheat and Jimmy Sentell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Masonic Hess Lodge #93.


Joseph A. Gamez, 85, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at his residence.

He was a retired maintenance employee with Inland Steel Field Forces in East Chicago, IN. and with Dover Corporation in Newbern, attended Miston Baptist Church, where he was a Baptist by faith, former member of VFW, former member of American Legion and he served in both the Merchant Marines and U.S. Army during WWII.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Carmon Dennison officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Duke Gamez of Dyersburg; a son, Dale Stanley of Dyersburg; two sisters, Pilar Norrick of Wheatfield, IN. and Christine Gamez of East Chicago, IN.; five brothers, Cipriano Gamez of Highland, IN., John Gamez of Hammond, IN., Jesse Gamez and Frank Gamez, both of East Chicago, IN. and Ramon Gamez of San Antonio, TX.; and a grandson, John Joseph Cook of Dyersburg.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Leanne Gamez; two infant sons, Jason Gamez and Gordon Gamez; a great-grandson, John Hayden Cook; his parents, Jose and Maria Martinez Gamez; three sisters, Maria Corpus, Nellie Mayorga and Lupe Gamez; and four brothers, Felipe Gamez, Librado Gamez, Ignacio Gamez and Robert Gamez.

Pallbearers will be David Montgomery, Grant Montgomery, Randy Duke, Lupe Almaraz and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be DRMC Red Coat Volunteers.


Don Allen Smith, 65, of Dyersburg, died Friday, March 18, 2011 in Claire, Michigan.

He was a farmer and factory worker.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Kenny Chessor officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his two sons, Don A. Smith II and wife, Wendy, of Finley and Brent Allen Smith and wife, Allison, of Hernando, MS.; a sister, Janie Smith of Dyersburg; a brother, James Albert Smith of Finley; and three grandchildren, Ethan Smith, Lauren Smith and Makeller Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Kathleen Holt Smith, and a sister, Mary Jean Cook.

Pallbearers will be Joe Smith, Lloyd Smith, Douglas Walk, Kenneth Patterson, Michael White and Al Jernigan.


Jerry Wolf of Dyersburg died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Curry Funeral Home.
