Ralph O'Neal Jacks, 74, of Fowlkes, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his residence.

He was a retired captain with the Dyersburg Fire Department, a retired staff sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the Vietnam War, a member of the Fowlkes Baptist Church and former Scoutmaster.

Services with full honors of the Dyersburg Fire Department will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Melton and the Rev. Joe Wright officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean Marie Jacks of Memphis; a son, Lynn Allan Jacks (Rebecca) of Fowlkes; a brother, Routon Mathis of Chattanooga; and two grandchildren, Holly Jacks of Cordova and Robert Jacks of Fowlkes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora E. Jones Jacks; his parents, Melvin Lee and Lula Mae Price Jacks; and two sisters, Robbie King and Willie Mae Bailey.

Pallbearers will be members of the Dyersburg Fire Department.

Agnes May Estes Key, 71, of Tiptonville, formerly of Nashville from 1969-1992, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Stuart Dyer officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her two sisters, Barbara Dunn of Kenton and Martha Rinks of Tiptonville; and a brother, Troy Estes of Tiptonville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Duper" Key, whom she was married to for 39 years; her parents, Wilburn and Ethel Davison Estes; three sisters, Christine Hinson, Pauline Moore and Aline Nunnery; and two brothers, Ernest Estes and Fred Estes.

Pallbearers will be Joel Dunn, Terry Dunn, Richard Runions, Bill Patterson, Mike Whitaker and Johnny Runions.


Jere Robbins, 62, of Newbern, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was an auto technician for B&M Auto of Dyersburg.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Mac Daniels and the Rev. Calvin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Barker Robbins of Newbern; a daughter, Lisa Canada Baker of Mile City, Mont.; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Canada Lemons of Newbern; four sisters, Peggy Simmons of Ripley, June Perkins of Chicago, Ill., Peggy Waddell and Sandra Lilly, both of Dyersburg; four brothers, Bobby Barker of Dyersburg, David Robbins of Newbern, James Robbins of Dyer, and Ricky Robbins of Friendship; three grandchildren, Jerry Canada Jr. (Chassidy) of Dyersburg, Jeffrey Clanton of Newbern and Mallory Baker Johnston of Radford, Va.; a great-grandchild, Bree Macy Johnston of Radford, Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Canada; and his parents, Frank Robbins and Inez Russell Armstrong.

Pallbearers will be Barry Daniels, Shad Baker, Chuck Burks, Tommy Ethridge, Melvin Brimm Jr. and James Hargrove. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Daniels and David Brasfield.

Carol Ann Robertson, 48, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a homemaker.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Roper and the Rev. Bo Kindle officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Robertson; two daughters, Velvet Franklin (Charlie) and Amy Anderson (Stoy), both of Dyersburg; her parents, Aldeon and Ruth Rose Gourley of Dyersburg; a sister, Connie McIntosh of Dyersburg; two brothers, Joe Gourley Sr. and Joe Gourley Jr., both of Dyersburg; and eight grandchildren, Whitney Franklin, Destiny Franklin, Dylan Franklin, Luke Franklin, Stoy Anderson III, Jordan Anderson, Kaylee Anderson and LeeAnn Winchester.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Gourley and Roger Gourley.

Pallbearers will be Joe Gourley Jr., Brian Cox, Cody Luckett, Dustin Markham, Joseph Tate and Ryan Jones.

Ella Cobb Spencer, 89, of Ridgely, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at The Bridge at Ridgely.

She was a retired private sitter and a member of Ridgely Church of Christ.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff O'Dell officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 1-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her five grandchildren, Lisa Jacobs of Nesbit, MS., Penny Tavares of Fayetteville, GA., Freida Sexton of Hernando, MS., Cathi Kennedy and Candy Cook, both of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Spencer; a step-daughter, Juanita Graham; a step-son, Oneal Spencer; a grandson, Fred Tippitt, Jr.; and her parents, Eural R. and Ida Lock Cobb.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.


Farris Dunn of Tiptonville died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
