L. Wayne Patton of Memphis, died April 17, 2011 at Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.
He was born on October 18, 1911 in Lafayette Springs, MS and grew up in Pontotoc, MS.
Mr. Patton worked for the Kroger Company and retired as a salesman for Tetley Tea Company. He was also a veteran of the US Army in World War II. He was an elder of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Olive Branch, MS, where he was a member for some 61 years.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 19 from 5-8 p.m., and funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20 at 2:30 p.m., all at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by is wife of 60 years, Marjorie Fowlkes Patton (originally of Dyersburg). He is survived by a son, Kenneth W. Patton and daughter-in-law, Wanda (Grace) Patton of Germantown; a sister, Marie Plantz of Tempe, Ariz. and grandsons, Conley W. Patton of New York, NY and Bradley J. Patton of Houston, TX.
The family requests that any memorials be sent to the church at 8181 Germantown Rd., Olive Branch, MS. 38854.
Services for James A. "Jimmy" Summerlin, 68, of Friendship will be Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Friendship Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Melton and Dr. Jerry Drace officiating. Burial will follow in South Fork Cemetery near Halls, TN. He died Friday, April 15, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Mr. Summerlin was the owner and operator of Summerlin Welding & Repair and was member of the Friendship Baptist Church and former member of the Tennessee National Guard. He was born in Madison County son of the late Jewell and Virginia Putman Summerlin.
He leaves his wife, Patricia Summerlin of Friendship; sons, Blake Summerlin and Cody Summerlin (Tona) of Friendship; sister, Ann Jones (Jimmy) of Rosemark; brother, Bill Summerlin (Susie) of Friendship and grandchildren, Alex Summerlin, Ethan Ward and Polly Anna Dennison.
Pallbearers will be Mac Summerlin, Eddie Jones, Chris Jones, Jonathan Jones, Troy Hutchison and Casey Burnett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Donny Cooke, Lynn Bivens, Jackie Perry, Buddy Perry, Robert Morgan, Tony Jones and Dale Jones.
Visitation was Monday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

Eddie "Tadpole" Lyte, 41, of Dyersburg died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
