William Robert "Willie Bob" Evans, 67, of Newbern, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Bro. Sean Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include two sisters, Tommie Christine Puckett of Cottage Hills, Ill., and Jo Nelle Johnson of Newbern; and three brothers, Ronnie Joe Evans, Jerry Lee Evans and Billy E. "Speck" Evans, all of Newbern.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter C. and Annie Lee Ladd Evans; a sister, Annie Sue Murray; and three brothers, James Howard Evans, Cecil Edward Evans and Wilbern Leon "Squeekie" Evans.

Pallbearers will be Joey Murray, John Mark Johnson, Tim Murray, Brian Qualls, Tony Evans and David Ross.


James Lewis Fields, 63, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a former city employee and a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hopewell Baptist Church in Friendship with the Rev. Beunnie Montgomery officiating.

The family will receive visitors today at H.H. Hudson Funeral Home.

Survivors include five daughters, Nicole Adams of Detroit, Mich., Melinda Price, Marie Johnson, Latash Fields and Jacqueline Blackwell, all of Dyersburg; a stepson, Roy Johnson of Dyersburg; two sisters, Dorothy Fields of Friendship and Arnita Battles of Milwaukee, Wis.


Mary Louise McElrath Jones, age 71, of East St. Louis, Ill., formerly of Dyersburg, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

Cosmopolitan Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church 208 St. George Ave., Dyersburg, with the Rev. W.L. McCadney officiating. Burial will be held in the M.C.C.O. Cemetery in Newbern.

Visitations will begin at 2 p.m. until time of service. Survivors include a son, Jerry McElrath of East St. Louis, Ill.; Grandsons, Jerry L. McElrath of Milwaukee, Wis., Byran McElrath and Rodney McElrath, all of East St. Louis, Ill. Four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katherine Moses and Clara Ruth McElrath, both of Dyersburg; two brothers, Don McElrath and Willie George McElrath Sr., both of Dyersburg; two devoted nieces, Melinda Bennett and Tammy McKinney, both of Dyersburg.

Sharon Branch Jordan, age 47, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Cosmopolitan Funeral Services is in charge.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Ross united Methodist Church, 105 Calcutt St., Dyersburg, with the Rev. James Lurene officiating. Charles Wayne Lovell Sr., 63, of Jackson, formerly of Ridgely, died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was a retired Water and Oil Well Driller, a Mason, a Baptist and U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Medal of Valor.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Adams officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday at the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Lynn Hackett of Sugarland, TX; two sons, Charles Wayne Lovell Jr. of Texas and Keith Lovell of Jackson; a sister, Cammie McCollum of Dyersburg; three brothers, William Lovell of Tiptonville, Harold Lovell of Centerville and David Lovell of Poplar Bluff, MO; and five grandchildren, Miabella Lovell, Steven Hackett and Nicholas Hackett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bennie Thedford Lovell; and a sister, Faye Holmes.

Pallbearers will be Gary McCollum, Sr., Gary McCollum Jr., Chip Lovell, Gary Lynn Alexander, Michael Todd and Russ Stover.


Nora Thetford Lock, 98, of the Millsfield Community near Dyersburg, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was retired from Sylvania Corp. and was the oldest member of Christ United Methodist Church, formerly Bryant's Chapel Methodist Church in the Millsfield Community.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with her grandson, Kerry Owen officiating. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jo Stacy and husband, John, of Dyersburg; four sisters, Jean Sipes, Martha Campbell, Dorothy Phillips and Barbara Hampton, all of Dyersburg; three grandsons, Kerry Owen and wife, Faye, and Pat Owen and wife, Donna, all of Dyersburg and John T. Stacy and wife, Kim, of Dallas, GA; eight great-grandchildren, Kim Owen, Brandon Owen, Beverly Jackson, Holly Fenton and husband, Daryl, all of Dyersburg, Keeli Stacy, Kelsey Stacy, Jacob Stacy and Kensley Stacy, all of Dallas, GA; and six great-great-grandchildren, Leea Fenton, Jacob Jackson, Blake Fenton, Sean Jackson, Colton Fenton and Landen Stacy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, T.C. Lock; her parents, Otto and Lula Asbridge Thetford; one sister, Sue Hall; and four brothers, Hayward Thetford, J.C. Thetford, Junior Garrison and Otis Garrison.

Pallbearers will be Benny Sipes, Kyle Caton, Glenn Campbell, Rickie Ingram, Billy Hall and Tracy Garrison.


Modine Beard, 96, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at The Highlands in Dyersburg.

Private family services will be held. The family has asked that memorials be directed to St. Jude Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38148-0142. Johnson-Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


Peggy Ann Clark, 78, of Newbern, died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Trenton Health & Rehabilitation Center.
