Mrs. Anna Mae "Mama Ann" Viar, 87, of Dyersburg, TN died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at her residence in Dyersburg. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dyersburg.

Services will be Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Stephen Cavness officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Curry Funeral Home.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Gale Bush and husband Hugh Butler of Dyersburg; two sisters, Esther Fowler of Dyersburg and Christine Fowler of Burton, Michigan; two grandchildren Kellie Knisley and husband Shane, and Melissa Bush, all of Dyersburg; and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Knisley, Emily Knisley, and Jacob Burchfiel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Neccie Maness Joslin; three sisters, Eunice Churchill, Lurline Reed, and Hildred Hepler; and three brothers, Farrell Joslin, Odell Joslin, and Homer Joslin.

Pallbearers will be Shane Knisley, John Paul Bush, Dougan Burchfiel, Scott Sipes, Bill Van Sant, and Rick Van Sant.

Lahoma Maxine Wheatley, 65, of Newbern, died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was retired from the knitting department at Dyersburg Fabrics.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Mr. Larry Fowlkes officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 12 noon - 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Wheatley of Newbern; two daughters, Shane Barrett and Ginger Warren, both of Dyersburg; two sons, Jeff Wheatley of Memphis and Brad Wheatley and wife, Deborah, of Friendship; a sister, Linda Sellers of Dyersburg; a brother, Darrell Hendrix of Dyersburg; ten grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Mildred Russell Hendrix; and a stepbrother, Robert Hendrix.


Samuel Goodman, 49, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Services will be held at Halls Funeral Home at noon today.


Virgil Ramey of Dyersburg died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
